ARTIST STATEMENT

Driven by our passion for unique, insightful, and stirring entertainment, we have founded White Swan Films to create films that entertain while exploring, uncovering and questioning the complexities of human nature. It is our belief that stories have the power to open hearts and minds since it is through them that we most likely identify and connect.

As filmmakers, we find the exploration of the human condition a most fulfilling endeavor. To delve into such a journey is to question the origin, meaning, and finality of mankind. This examination inevitably elicits questions related to our human nature. Who are we? Why do we act, react, and interact the way we do? Are the contradictions of our nature inescapably predetermined by fate? Is there even, in the end, a universal commonality that defines our species? If so, why are there different races, cultures, and ideologies?

Many of these questions will certainly forever stay without answers. Nevertheless, merely tackling them through compelling stories may, in the end, reveal a little more about ourselves and the society we live in and perhaps inspire us to embrace a universal model of fundamental dignity, rights and accountability for each man and woman.

While we feel it is the filmmakers’ privilege to have their finger on the pulse of society, we are also convinced it is the filmmakers’ obligation to raise questions while refuting stereotypical characterizations, predigested opinions, and blind indoctrination. Above all, it is the path of the artist to open hearts and minds.
