JULIEN ROUSSEL BIOGRAPHY
Julien is the writer, producer, director of the award-winning film AIMEE PRICE (Winner JURY AWARD at the Boston International Film Festival, Winner BEST NARRATIVE SHORT at the Cedar Rapids Film Festival, and Winner BEST ACTRESS at the Baltimore Film Festival). The success of AIMEE PRICE and the constant requests by festival audiences to delve deeper into the characters and the story inspired Julien and Anastasia Roussel to co-write REFLECTION, a psychological thriller, currently in development. Other writing credits include THE QUALITY OF MERCY, a 16th century drama Julien anticipates to direct after REFLECTION.
In addition, Julien 2nd unit directed THE LOST TRIBE (AfterDark/Lionsgate); produced OSCAR SEGMENTS, EXTREME CLOSE UP and THE MICHAEL JACKSON TRIAL for E! Entertainment (US & Italian markets) and directed various short films in Europe and the United States as well as documentary presentations and webisodes.
Fascinated by all aspects of filmmaking, Julien is also a skillful editor and brings years of freelance experience (TV Pilots, Films, Demo Reels) to the post-production services offered by White Swan Films.
Julien is a recipient of an MFA Degree in Film and Television Directing from the American Film Institute (AFI) in Los Angeles. Before moving to California, Julien obtained a "Licence Ès Lettres" Degree with a major in French Literature and a minor in Film History and Aesthetics from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. Upon completion of his Masters degree, Julien co-founded Generation Creative, a production company specializing in Public Service Announcements. He then partnered with Anastasia Roussel to co-found White Swan Films.
